THE ORIGINAL DIXIELAND JAZZ BAND
"The Return 1935-38"
In 1936 the Original Dixieland jazz Band was recalled to the studios to recreate their hits of 1917-9. They also augmented the band to record ten of the original ODJB hits with swing arrangements. Soloists Nick LaRocca, Larry Shields, Ed Edwards and J. Russel Robinson. In 1938 the band, now without LaRocca, but with Sharkey Bonano on trumpet recorded the final six titles. Definitive notes by Harry Brunn.
